CAMDA Newsletter March 2007 PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Hello CAMDA members!

I hope you have all survived the blast of winter weather February brought.  I like to think that spring is in the air!  Our clocks spring forward on March 11th and mares are under lights for early breedings.  Our first CAMDA recognized show on June 2 is really just around the corner.  So, lets go over a few things CAMDA has in the works for this year.

First, as always, our meetings are on the first Thursday of every month and they are open to all members.  They are held at my house, Flower Farm (3601 Roser Rd. Glen Rock, 17327)  But, I would like anyone who is planning on attending to RSVP by noon on Thursday.  I only need to know if you DO plan on coming and please include a phone number or e-mail where you can be reached.  That way, if our meeting will not be well attended I can make other arrangements and/or let the other one or two members who were planning on coming know.  If I do not hear from you, I will not be expecting you.  Also, we can be in contact if the weather is bad or there is an unexpected emergency.  Thanks!!

Second, we are trying to work with IEO and have arranged for non-conflicting show dates.  That way members of either/both organizations can hit a maximum number of well-organized local schooling shows. The calendars for both clubs are included in this newsletter so you can make your show plans early!  What an exciting summer lies ahead!

Third, we are once again planning on sending both Young Rider and Adult Teams to represent CAMDA at their respective competitions.  So, keep track of your scores and plan on either riding or cheering our teams on!  This is such a fun way to meet and greet members from other GMO's as well as have a great time with your friends from home.

Fourth, our newsletter is going to (hopefully!) offer some new features.  We will have free classified advertising for members.  So, if you have something for sale and want to let other members know about it (i.e. saddle, horse, trailer, stallion, boarding facility, training, etc.) just shoot a line or two with contact information to Laurie (hearty24@aol.com) or Erica (erica.harling@healthconnectsystems.com) and they will include it.  They do, however, reserve the right to edit as necessary.  Also, we will update every issue with the horse show calendar, clinic opportunities and a letter from little ole me.  Looking for anything else in particular?  Just let me know.

Finally, I encourage everyone to visit our website at www.camdadressage.com  Rita Hanson has done such a nice job on this site and it is a useful resource tool for all members.  It has membership information, entry blanks, and horse show details.  If you know of any prospective members, you can send them there too.  They will find what they need to join our wonderful club!

Thanks to all of you for your support of CAMDA.  This club is going to make a big effort to gain strength and membership and serve the needs of all of you.  I think we have a great group of people with a lot of talent and enthusiasm and I welcome your ideas and suggestions.

With warm regards,
Ginger Parker
